   Jobs for college students on a tight schedule???
   I am attending my final semester of college and the schedule is so all over the place that I cannot work a regular job. I have a BA already in Professional Writing and Editing and and completing my BS in Civil Engineering this May. Can anyone tell me a job (not bartending/waitressing/retail) that I can possibly do from home to make money, even if it just covers my gas. My classes are scattered from 9am to 11pm M-S so that is why I am not bartending or doing another co-op. Any help would be appreciated. I am not trying to buy something to get a job, like a survey list site either.

     Well, I can maybe somewhat help. I cannot tell you where to find the job that is why I am only somewhat helpful. The mother of a Friend of mine growing up would sit at home taping commercials from various channels. It sounds funny, I know, but you can receive moderate pay for this task. My understanding is that the advertiser wants to ensure their commercial was aired at the time it was paid for and that the commercial was not cut short, or the broadcaster did not lose signal during that time…Please do not edit this message and point out my grammar errors. I am only an amateur answerer and may become distressed by your criticism. LOL

     No matter what you do, make it something that will help you determine what you want to do when you graduate. Like if you are considering law school, try to intern at a law firm (even if you don’t get paid). You may discover you hate lawyers or law firms or the court system and save yourself a lot of time/energy/money applying to law schools and taking the LSATs. Same goes for if you might want to be a journalist (work at a newspaper) or whatever.

     You only get a few summers to experiment with different employers and build your resume. Take advantage of it!

   I am a college student writing an English paper about How teachers are getting paid too little… please help!
   I have to research everything… but i cant find anything. I get a lot of opinions but not good enough. Teacher loss in Kentucky because of the pay? Teachers are todays heroes and they get treated like crap by the government and parents and everyone else. Who ever is trying to disagree with me… you havent spent time with the teachers in the class room. WE HAVE TO HAVE TEACHERS IN TODAYS WORLD TO EVEN GET A JOB. whats the deal. i really need help with my paper though. Thank you for the help.
   I undederstand that some of these teachers out here are not perfect at what they do and some that shouldnt even be teaching, but to that, that is why it is getting harder for people to become teachers. Which is great. We need teachers who are great at what they do and still love the job!

     Research some of this:
     Avg pay of a teacher in the US. Figure out pay per hour. (how many days in the teaching contract, usually about 190 , and how many hours in a contract school day, usually around Compare that rate of pay to many other careers, especially those that are life impacting. Oh, and especially with pro sports players! That one always makes us teachers feel oh so loved!

     Now, use that same pay rate and get real with it. Go with those same number of days, but how many hours does a teacher REALLY work).

     Cost of keeping up teacher certification versus what school districts will reimburse. (Look up recertification standards for the state to see how many graduate hours are needed, check with local districts for reimbursement.) Most companies will pay to send their people to school to keep them up to date and current.

     How many teachers work second jobs or full time jobs during the summer to supplement their pay?

     Teacher pay compared to poverty level earnings in the US. Many teachers will fall below the national poverty lines.

   College Students: DO you ever get the email about survey jobs?
   Student Research Online – Edu email, telling you that you get paid for writing reviews and such things? Do you know if this is legit?

     I get those all the time, but my University finally put a spam-filter on our database to help with things like that. I’m guessing they’re pretty illegitimate, because since they’ve done that, I haven’t gotten anything from them. I also got a lot of e-mails from ‘Barack Obama’ or ‘Michelle Obama’ asking me to donate money to their campaign, even after the election. I’m pretty sure these are people just exploiting Obama’s popularity.
